Final Assessment
Another Wine Spies Worldwide Exclusive, today’s delicious 2012 Chateau Crisp Sauvignon Blanc comes to us all the way from Marlborough in New Zealand. A territory known globally for its marvelous Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine, in its innovative bottle-wrap packaging, really took our tasting panel by storm. We fell in love at first sniff, but it was the palate that really made us fall in love. This wine is flawless, fresh, crisp and delicious. For such a low-priced wine, it delivers incredible value.
Everyone on our tasting panel will be taking home at least a case of this wonderful wine. With Spring and Summer on the horizon, we’l be enjoying this very highly recommended wine with the coming BBQs that are certain to ensue!
Tasting Profile
Light pale golden hues with glinting edges. Tall, slow-moving legs start high on the glass wall before running slowly downward.
Freshly cut green grass, passionfruit, pineapple, pomello with a lovely hint of fresh spring mix salad with subtle fresh herbs.
Crisp and bright with pineapple, yellow grapefruit, Meyer lemon zest, lime leaf and a hint of fresh garden herbs.
Flavors spread to the far corners of the palate before slowly tailing off. As flavors fade, a very smooth dryness spreads to the edges of the palate.
Server this delightful wine with raw oysters with horseradish or mignonette. A lovely antipasti would also be fantastic.
