EnRoute by Far Niente presents “I Spy a Northern Spy” which is a play on words with the children’s game “I Spy” and the Northern Spy Vineyard. The Northern Spy Vineyard is named after a heritage apple variety and pays homage to the roots of agriculture prior to grape plantings in West Sonoma County. This wine is a unique blend of specifically planted clones to express the Russian River style of wine.

The Northern Spy vineyard is located in the heart of, and coincidentally the coldest spot in, Russian River Valley, which gives great concentration, structure, and depth to the wine. EnRoute’s winemaking team kept fermentations as cold as possible in an effort to preserve aromatics and accentuate the structure and density of the wine. There are many layers to this wine with notes of Bergamot tea, potpourri, orange peel and forest floor, and smooth, seamless tannins.
